Purpose: The franchisee is advised about the business relationship the franchise has with a public figure and prevents confusion about how the franchisee may use the name and other images of the public figure.
Tips & Advice: George Foreman’s contract with Meineke Car Care Center®, for example, is listed in the franchise disclosure document. But the existence of a promotional tie-in with Foreman does not mean the Meineke franchisee has carte blanche privileges to use the former boxing champ’s images in advertisements. It also does not guarantee George Foreman and Meineke will sign to extend the relationship.
