Smartstyle® Businesses provide value priced hair care services for men, women and children, and sell a complete line of hair care products and merchandise. The Smartstyle® Business System is designed to meet the demand for providing the general public with high quality, value-priced hair care services and products. Smartstyle franchises are currently offered only at approved locations in certain Wal-Mart stores, but the franchisor reserves the right to approve other locations outside of Wal-Mart stores in its sole discretion.

The Barbers, Hairstyling for Men & Women, Inc. is a Minnesota corporation established in October 1968, and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Regis Corporation, a Minnesota corporation (“Regis”). Regis is a publicly-held company on the Nasdaq stock exchange trading under the symbol “RGS.” The principal business address for Smartstyle and Regis is 3701 Wayzata Boulevard, Suite 500, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55416. In 2016, The Barbers began franchising Smartstyle in salons located inside of Wal-Marts in the United States.
Investment
The total investment necessary to begin operation of a SMARTSTYLE franchise is $183,916 to $325,558. This includes $41,500 to $43,500 that must be paid to the franchisor or affiliate(s). If you want to develop more than one store, you will sign a Development Agreement. The development fee and franchise fee depends on the number of stores you want to develop and whether you are a new or existing franchisee. If you sign a Development Agreement for development of three Smartstyle salons, for example, the total investment necessary to begin operation of a Smartstyle franchise is $213,916 to $355,558. This includes $71,500 to $73,500 that must be paid to the franchisor or affiliate. If you sign a Development Agreement, you will be required to open a minimum of one or 3 or 6 Smartstyle salons.
