Investment
The total investment necessary to begin operation of a single-unit 1,000 to 3,000 square foot Mensho restaurant ranges from $576,675 to $3,928,350. This includes $131,000 to $178,500 that is payable to the franchisor and their affiliates before your Mensho restaurant opens for business.
The total investment necessary to begin operation as a multi-unit area developer depends on the Development Fee, which in turn depends on the number of Mensho restaurants in the Development Quota, which the franchisor determines by mutual agreement before you sign the Area Development Agreement and must be at least two restaurants; and the single-unit initial investment for each Mensho restaurant in your Development Quota. The Development Fee is the sum of $30,000 for the first restaurant in the Development Quota, plus the product of $15,000 times the remaining number of Mensho restaurants in the Development Quota, and is payable in full when you sign the Area Development Agreement. Beginning with the second Mensho restaurant in your Development Quota, the franchisor credits a portion of the Development Fee in specific increments to the Initial Franchise Fee payable for each Mensho restaurant in the Development Quota when you sign the Franchise Agreement for the Mensho restaurant following the franchisor’s approval of the restaurant’s location. If you begin development of a Mensho restaurant more than a year after the issuance date of this Disclosure Document, your initial investment to open each Mensho restaurant in the Development Schedule may be higher than the range that the franchisor discloses in this Disclosure Document.
